An architectural story 1975

Geometry, a large flat roof and white-painted bricks are some of the recognizable elements that typify top architect Georges Vandenbussche. The mission of 't Huis Van Oordeghem therefore consisted of both honoring this distinct style and countering it with a dose of frivolity and homeliness.

In all the different areas of the garden, the different functional requirements were carefully considered before filling them in with the right designs. The retro stripe patterns are a nod to seventies glamour but also just radiate pure coziness.

A big name in architecture stands up perfectly alongside a big name in fashion. So on one of the terraces created by Georges Vandenbussche, 't Huis van Oordeghem chose Gae Aulenti's garden furniture from the film "La Piscine. These chairs from 1969 were recently given a new yellow outfit by the renowned fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus.
