This project on the Belgian coast was largely about finding the right balance. A balance between different functions - eating, relaxing, lying down - but also a balance between two styles: classic elegance and contemporary nonchalance. The Portofino chairs by architect Vincent Van Duysen make the link to the coast without falling into a stereotypical blue-and-white pattern. The green coffee table is custom-made by Paola Lenti, while the 4m H02 dining table is an in-house design by 't Huis van Oordeghem.
The balance on this spacious terrace is completed by two poufs upholstered in quality fabrics with a pronounced texture, for a natural character.
The Riva sofa is a classic that moves perfectly on the border between those two styles. The wooden frame exudes a timelessness that holds up even without cushions.
However, add the soft casual cushions in a deep bottle green and the whole thing takes on more body and character.
